Covid 19 Response
We are pleased to announce that Balm Therapies CIC are the recipients of awards from the Phoenix fund and the National lottery community fund. This will support us in continuing to create safe spaces where groups and individuals can explore the challenges which they face to their mental health and well being particularly during the Covid-19 pandemic.
We have also been supported by Nottingham Women's centre, and as a result the Balm Women's group were able to participate in exploring themes and topics which impact on the wellbeing of women of African Caribbean heritage.
In the initial stages of the national lockdown we were able to respond to members of the community by providing
well being boxes, which were designed to reflect the cultural needs of recipients whose ability to engage in social activities and connect with the wider community was no longer possible.
It is clear that the impact of social distancing is likely to increase feelings of isolation and levels of anxiety for many.
Making contact and checking on the wellbeing of families and individuals within communities is of great importance.
We can also feed back any concerns or requirements and therefore act as a link to the wider community.
As a result of current constraints, and as we enter a second period of lockdown, we will increasingly be using social media platforms to deliver training, and exploring strategies for creating balance and wellbeing.
